About Farmhouse Friends

Farmhouse Friends, formerly Farmhouse Rescue, is proud to bring hope to children in hospitals across Southern California.

Through Smile Boxes, our Guest of the Farm Experiences, animal science programs, and more, our team – and our rescue animals – spark hope from our farm in Orange County, California.

In 2017, Danielle Judd, pregnant with her third child, was hospitalized with a life-threatening illness that caused seizures, memory loss, and organ failure. In a moment of despair, she made a promise to God: if she survived, she would dedicate her life to helping others.

After a miraculous recovery and the birth of her healthy baby boy, Danielle rescued an off-the-track racehorse—and realized the horse was rescuing her too. That moment sparked the beginning of FarmHouse Friends, a mission born from healing, hope, and the life-changing bond between people and animals.

Since then, Farmhouse Friends has saved over 150 animals, but truly, it’s the animals that do the saving.

With the power of our Smile Club program, our animal ambassadors bring smiles to children undergoing cancer treatment. We are proud to partner with Children’s Hospital of Orange County, MemorialCare Miller Children's & Women's Hospital of Long Beach, and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, giving up to 50 Smile Boxes per month free of charge. When you support Farmhouse Friends, you make this possible.
